Wrinkle, Line, and Acne Scar Smoothing with no down-time, no recovery time, no medications and non-invasive.
A non-invasive procedure to treat aging skin without "down-time"!
The COOL TOUCH 1.32 mm Nd:YAG laser treatment is the procedure of choice for the patient who:
- Has specific areas of the face where aging is pronounced;
- Wishes to achieve the toning benefits of traditional laser resurfacing;
- Prefers not to have any "down-time," open skin, or postoperative care.
On the heels of CO2 and Erbium laser resurfacing, COOL TOUCH 1.32 Nd:YAG Thermescent
Laser Skin Treatment combines many of the benefits of its predecessors
without the prolonged redness or interruption of daily activities.
COOL TOUCH is ideally used as a part of a total skin care maintenance program in combination with active skin care products and complements other procedures such as Botox, Fotofacial, or Microdermabrasion. In addition, COOL TOUCH treatments can be performed as maintenance after CO2 or Erbium laser skin resurfacing.
COOL TOUCH treatments are best delivered every 6 weeks in a series of 3 to 5 visits. Treatment discomfort is minimal with the use of a mild topical anesthetic cream and a cryogen cooling spray, which is directed onto the skin by the laser handpiece.
The COOL TOUCH system is typically used on the problem areas around the eyes and mouth. A treatment session lasts an average of 30 minutes and one is able to return to normal activities with minimal skin redness that disappears within a few hours. Postoperative healing is rapid and clinical improvement of skin texture and tightening continues for several weeks resulting in subtle, natural rejuvenation.

How to Prepare for your COOL TOUCH Procedure
Other than your regular skin care routine, there is no standard "prep" for this procedure. When you come in for the initial treatment, after all of your last minute questions have been answered and paperwork handled, your face will be cleansed and a series of pre-operative photos will be taken and stored. There are no restrictions on what you may eat or drink prior to your appointment.
What to Expect During Your Procedure
In the operating room, a topical anesthetic cream will be applied to the area to be treated. This will not render your skin completely numb, but in combination with the cooling cryogen spray that precedes each laser pulse, any discomfort you may feel will be minimal. Your eyes will be protected with special goggles. The procedure itself takes very little time and has been described by patients as "a spray and a snap."
What to Expect After the Procedure
For most patients, there is a minimal amount of pink and heat generation in the treated area, with little to no swelling. Ice packs are available for those who may have some discomfort or postoperative puffiness. It would not be uncommon for the skin to be slightly drier that evening and to require more moisturizer.
